Give or Take is all about making a difference. Our specialist area of influence is in the world of online shopping. Imagine being able to support charities just by shopping on the Internet? That was the vision that led to the birth of the online shopping phenomenon, Give or Take, in April 2006.
Give or Take is committed to raising money for registered charities through online business. We offer an easy, effective and sustainable way charities can raise funds, and increase awareness of their cause. We develop partnerships with charities on an individual basis, and these are supported by jointly signing a legal agreement which outlines in detail how we work together. What's more, all donations made by members are passed on to charities in full on a monthly basis (once the minimum limit of £10 has been reached), without making any deductions for administration costs etc.
Give or Take is an online marketplace where members can purchase goods from all the leading online retailers including many familiar high street names such as John Lewis, Tesco, WHSmith, Dixons and Currys. There are over 500 to choose from. Shoppers buy what they want from one or more stores, and check out on the retailers' websites as they normally would. However, instead of that being the end of the shopping process, their sales are all electronically tracked and the relevant amount of 'cashback' they have earned from each sale will appear in their Give or Take account. Cashback is offered in two different ways – as a percentage of the sale, or as a fixed amount.
The 'cashback' we give our members on their purchases comes from advertising commission that retailers we work with give us to advertise their goods and services. When customers buy products online from an advert on a website such as ours, the website displaying the advert earns a referral fee for that sale (basically advertising commission.) Instead of keeping this money, Give or Take has chosen to pass 100% of that referral fee back to the customer as 'cashback'.
Our members then choose what to do with the money back they earn: they have the option to give the money to a charity of their choice; or they can take it for themselves.
We encourage donating by featuring a limited range of charities and their logos, together with a short description of their work and a link to their website so that members can make an informed choice about which they would like to support, and easily find out more about the causes that interest them.
To nominate a new charity to be listed on the site, please send an email to charities@giveortake.com we will then contact you with further details.
We look forward to hearing from you - and raising money for you!
