The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is a conservation charity founded in 1984 by renowned wildlife artist, David Shepherd. Today our mission is to preserve and protect endangered mammals in Africa and Asia where we work with conservation experts on the ground on projects to save the elephant, rhino, tiger, snow leopard, moon bear and painted dog. We adopt an holistic approach to our conservation work and combine animal based measures with community projects which support the people who live alongside this precious wildlife. To date we have made more than £5 million available to overseas projects to fund anti-poaching patrols, provide veterinary care to injured animals, educate school children about the value of their wildlife heritage and support reformed poachers with self help enterprises. At home, our education programme aims to raise awareness of the importance of conservation through school visits and lectures, an annual art and poetry competition and access to our free, online education pack. 100% of all donations go to support our projects overseas.
