Banana Appeal is a UK based non-governmental non-profit organisation that works towards the transformation of Zulu communities in South Africa by caring for vulnerable children and orphans. The name Banana Appeal comes from the charities first simple but effective grass-roots project that involved supplying bananas and other fruit sourced from local suppliers and growers into schools in Zululand ? this not only helps nourish the children but also encourages them to attend school and receive an education.
